Let's Get Started

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) initiative is a European Union Directive intended to prevent improper waste disposal. The directive seeks to promote the reuse of such waste, which reduces its disposal, and strives to improve the ecological performance of everyone involved in the handling of electrical and electronic equipment.

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive is a European Union initiative. It's key objective is to eliminate certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The elimination of these substances will contribute to the protection of human health and also help the environment recover as soundly as possible.

RoHS China

In 2006, China published a law entitled Administration on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products (ACPEIP). It is often referred to as the China RoHS due to similarities with the European Union Directive for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances.

The China RoHS only affects products and components within the Electronic Information Products (EIP) list.

Baker Hughes' digital solutions business strictly complies with REACH (Regulation 1907/2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals, adopted by the European Union in December 2006).

The business also works with suppliers to identify any potential implications of REACH on the availability of materials.

Battery Directive

The European Union Directive 2006/66/EC on waste batteries and accumulators is known as the Battery Directive. It is intended to minimize the impact of waste batteries and accumulators on the environment and human health.
